Going places again!
It was almost a year ago exactly that we left Alaska after an incredible summer, but time passed has done little to quench my desire to return to that cold and mountainous sixty-degree latitude line.
On the 26th I take off to spend the fall semester at the University of Turku in Finland. If you’re interested, the trip has its own little blog! This time I’ll be braving the dark, frigid, and rainy fall and winter months. Here’s to survival!

I don’t really do blogging, as I’m pretty sure the Internet has enough opinions floating around and really is not concerned with mine. The Alaska journal was for the sake of family who could not come with me.
Back where I have come from

It is dark far too early. How is one supposed to sleep?
Tried to go outside to look at the moon, but couldn’t breathe.
It’s a foreign kind of familiarity. Not nostalgia, rather more like I am in a dream of a scene from my childhood and when I wake up I’ll be back in the real world, back in now in an upstairs room with a window looking out over mountains.
I feel so displaced, but Jacob is happy to be back. Anyway I always did like the start of a new school year.
My little brother is starting a beard. My mother is blonde. That’s what happens when you go away. I missed them, at any rate.
I promised pictures and words and phone calls and have been negligent on all three. Here are some adventures!
